Welcome back.

I really hadn't expected to be posting on this site again having promised myself a blog-free final trip this year. However having looks at the statistics and seen there are still many people visiting the site, many of whom may well have been with us since the beginning I felt I had to take them along for this one final trip. We've probably had something like 1.5 million visits over the years, though it was never about the numbers, or seeking 'likes'. It was about sharing our experiences which others, contemplating doing something similar, could refer to for information about campsites, places and a feel for the motorhoming experience.

This trip will be seven weeks long and take in just France visiting some old favourites which will make it doubly difficult finding things to write about.

Sadly we are making this trip in what has become a very dangerous world. How sad it is that just a handful of power crazy loons can control the lives and destiny of so many people. We fare no better here in the UK having had a very poor choice at the last General Election between voting for a little brown chap who promised to 'Stop the Boats', having stabbed Boris the Clown in the back to get the top job, and a Human Rights lawyer who needed a Supreme Court judge to tell him what a woman is.

I'm certain that before the end of this trip Trump the narcissistic orange buffoon will be demanding President Zelensky of Ukraine is arrested and tried for war crimes for having started the war with Russia by allowing Putin to invade them. Mind you we have to give Trump credit where it is due. He has the peace plan for an end to the war all worked out. It's a very complicated formula but basically it boils down to Zelensky and Ukraine giving Putin everything he wants, including all of the land he now occupies since the invasion. Trump calls it a peace deal whilst the sane and sensible call it unconditional surrender.

I'm beginning to hope that Europe do a deal with Ukraine offering them a continued supply of weapons in exchange for their rare minerals. That will put America's nose out of joint and create jobs in the European defense industry. Ukraine can't beat Russia of course, we all know that. But what we allies can do is keep them supplied with enough weapons to make the pain and grief for Putin and Russia so great that eventually he'll want to sit down and talk sensibly about a peace deal having had his nose bloodied and learnt a lesson for the future.

Our trip begins in a couple of days time when we'll cross over to Calais and spent the night on a car park in Boulogne before setting off on Sunday morning heading towards Chartres.
