Then it was across the road to The North Norfolk Railway https://www.nnrailway.co.uk/#main station. Due to the coronavirus problem tickets were sold for a self contained compartment - £36 for up to four passengers, if there are more an additional fee is paid. We touched lucky as we had arrived early by getting just the second compartment behind the steam train, and even more lucky when the train driver, sitting on a bench on the platform with his fireman invited me to climb on to the footplate for a look. I didn't need telling twice.
The route isn't very long, and even travelling at a sedate speed it only took about twenty minutes, passing through the station of Weybourne which is currently closed.
