When we arrived at 'Holt' we discovered that the station was a mile and a quarter from the actual village - they don't tell you that when selling the train tickets. Fortunately there was a bus stop outside and ten minutes later were on our way to the village in style.

Holt is a small Georgian town which is a great place for shopping or browsing around the many art and crafts galleries. They sell quality items, so bring your credit cards or cheque book. There are also cafes and speciality food shops. We couldn't find a bus for our return journey, and couldn't take a chance on one coming along and so it was a brisk walk back to the station for us.
